The Oscar Contreras Ortiz Award was first awarded in 2018 to honor the memory and legacy of Oscar Contreras Ortiz, co-founder of the International Urogynecology Journal and IUGA President from 1996-1998.
Oscar generously gifted his share of the journal to IUGA. This award is given annually to the author(s) of the most impactful IUJ article of the previous 2 years. In addition to a certificate of recognition, this prize includes a check for $1,000.
The winners of this award for 2022 are Alka Bhide, Visha Tailor, Ruwan Fernando, Vik Khullar, and Alex Digesu for their paper on Posterior tibial nerve stimulation for overactive bladder-techniques and efficacy.
